The Corumana Dam stands as a critical piece of infrastructure for Mozambique, playing a pivotal role in water supply, irrigation, and flood control. In 2024, USK’s geotechnical teams have been at the forefront of ensuring the dam’s slope stability and infrastructure integrity. This World Bank-funded project is vital for safeguarding the dam’s functionality and the surrounding communities’ safety. Our contribution through geotechnical drilling and instrumentation installation is essential for long-term monitoring and maintenance, ensuring that the dam continues to serve its purpose effectively and sustainably.

The Lesotho Lowlands Water Development Project Phase II (LLWDP-II) is a transformative initiative aimed at providing clean and safe water to communities in the Hlotse-Maputsoe and Mohale’s Hoek-Mafeteng areas. With funding from the World Bank, European Investment Bank, and European Union, this project includes the development of intakes, water treatment facilities, transmission mains, pumping stations, and reservoirs. USK is honored to lead the geotechnical investigation for this critical endeavor. As highlighted by our CEO, Steve Kalule, this project is not just a professional commitment but a personal mission to improve lives and foster community well-being. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 6, LLWDP-II is a beacon of hope, ensuring water access and transforming the future for countless families.
